Savannah
Savannah
Savannah joined Harley and Ace for life in the summer of 2012 at 2 years of age thanks to the kindness of Sissel and Rune and their family, who raised Savannah for the first years of her life.
The transition was seamless and Savannah made herself at home from the first moment she arrived showing no signs of distress that I would expect changing homes would have initially caused her. On her first night here, after playing all afternoon and evening with Harley and Ace, Savannah fell asleep and snored in a carefree, no-lady-like-manner all night long.
Savannah is beautiful, sweet, very affectionate and demands to be stroked, cuddled, massaged, and snuggled with around the clock. If it were entirely up to Savannah, she would have a whole team of humans dedicated to giving her constant affection.
In contrast to Harley and Ace who practically live in the water, swimming in the fjord several times per day from early spring to late fall, Savannah is more of a beach dog barely getting her paws wet. If given incentive in form of a Frisbee tossed close to shore, Savannah (facing camera - see photograph) occasionally dares to paddle after it and retrieve it before Harley (leaping out of the water wearing blue collar) snatches it on the way back to the shore after retrieving his own Frisbee from across the fjord.
Savannah loves playing with Harley and Ace. She seeks Harley's company at all times and loves snuggling next to Harley putting her head on his body and relaxing next to him. She looks up to Harley for guidance when she is unsure and trusts him at all times to steer her to safety.
Savannah and Ace have a language of their own that no one else seems to understand and their play consists of chasing each other, shoving each other and "beating" each other up, which to them seems to be heaven on earth and the ultimate level of fun. Don't be fooled by the innocent looks of these two... ;-).
